If you have missed the previous episode, Stereo Total new album, Do The Bambi, will be available in Europe in about a month on a new label, Disko B. It makes me feel strange to see them away from Bungalow. I've always thought they would stay together. And Bungalow has always been very nice and friendly with me (free records, postcards, etc).

Paris, 23/12/04. Achtung ! At the very last moment, Brezel's solo performance has been moved to La Pointe Lafayette. Warum ? Some obscure administrative reasons I didn't really understand. Well, never mind, let's go !

Brezel has connected a whole pack of small electronik muzik machines and weird instruments : theremin, trautonium, a pocket drum kit and, natürlich, a microphone. Behind him stands a little screen. Françoise is around, wearing a trench leopard (the one you can see on the new press pictures). She's in a great mood, talking with Hervé, from Cabine design studio, which CD compilation (Discocabine) will be out in a few months.

Eins, Zwei, Drei… Here we go for 45 minutes of Brezelgoeringmuzik. First track sounds very Pierre Henry, with a giant portrait of La Vache Qui Rit (famous french cheese) in the background. Then Brezel takes drums, while a black and white fight movie appears on the screen. Bad News From The Stars is followed by a Kahimie Karie song i didn't know. And now, big surprise, Mother’s Little Helper, dedicated to Polyphonic Size ! After that, Francoise plays theremin in a smashing instrumental.

Time to "I belong to the Beat Generation", Rod Mc Kuen's Beatnik manifesto Richard Hell once revisited. Ich Bin So… something I couldn't notice with some Christiane F pictures on the wall. "I Hate Everybody In The Discotheque", a great cover track with smashing funny lyrics : « I don’t like the DJ, I don’t like the stroboscooope, I don’t like the musiiiic, I haaaaaate everybody in the discotheque !… »
Back from krautrock hell suddenly appears some very old Can number : "Mary Mary, So Contrary", then it's noch einmal I Hate Everybody In The Discotheque with Françoise, Clarisse and Mathieu on chorus. Terminus.

Et voilà. A pretty good gig. A little bordélique sometimes, but that's because Brezel is playing, singing and mixing pictures in the same time. He will then tell me that he's working on a new solo 12" single, and a remix of Loved But Fired (from Bad News From the Stars).

DISCOCABINE : Cabine compilation will be available in a few months, staring Brigitte Fontaine, Stereo Total, Felix Kubin, Khan, Jeans Team, Hanayo, Robots in Disguise, Melissa Logan, Stereolab, Frederik Schikowski, Elli Medeiros, Cobra Killer & Jacno.

DISKO B : The new Stereototos label website has just been updated, with a new Do The Bambi page. It will be out on February 28th in Europe and Japan. In CD or double LP. If you can't wait that long, ask their american label, Kill Rock Stars, who will release it on January 25th.

TOUR : Stereo Total goes on the road again from March 17th (for more infos, check out their official site). They will be in Paris again on April 15 th, at the Point FMR (ex-Point P), just beside La Pointe Lafayette !
